Dr. Rubino Selected as One of the
“Top Doctors in New Jersey” By Peers |
|
| |
When doctors across New Jersey were asked by New Jersey Monthly, “Which OB/GYNs would you want to treat a member of your own family,” they selected Dr. Robert Rubino as a physician in whom they have great confidence. We are proud to announce Dr. Rubino will be listed among the “Top Doctors in New Jersey” in the November issue. Look for it on newsstands the last week in October, and be sure to read the profile on Dr. Rubino. |

Tired of Heavy, Painful Periods?
Consider “Her Option” Cryoablation Therapy |
|
| |
The Rubino OB/GYN Group offers the latest in minimally-invasive procedures, including “Her Option” Cryoablation Therapy, a 15-minute office procedure to eliminate heavy and painful periods.
No anesthesia. No Surgery. No Hormones. It’s a safe and easy alternative to hysterectomy to end heavy bleeding. Most patients return to their normal activities the next day.
As highlighted in Dr. Rubino's profile in the 2008 issue of NJ Monthly Top Doc, Dr. Rubino is one of the most experienced doctors in the NY Metro Area to perform Her Option Cryoablation. For more information on “Her Option,” visit www.rubinoobgyn.com/painful-periods.html.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
Self-exams, Mammograms and Evista
|
|
| |
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a good time to stress the fact that early prevention and detection are the keys to surviving this disease. Therefore, the American Cancer Society recommends that:
• Women 20 and older perform monthly breast self-exams
• Women have baseline mammograms between ages 35-40 and annually thereafter
• Women with a mother or sister who have a history of breast cancer should have
a baseline mammogram between ages 30-35 and annually thereafter
Don’t be afraid of these painless life-saving tests. If breast cancer is caught early, before it has spread to other parts of the body, the survival rate is 98 percent. So be sure to have annual mammograms after age 40, and remind your friends to do the same.
Evista: For Breast Cancer Prevention
Evista, an osteoporosis medication, has been approved for breast cancer prevention by the FDA for women with age-related bone thinning or osteoporosis. Studies indicate a 60 percent reduction in estrogen-dependent breast cancer in women taking Evista.
Scientists anticipate Evista will soon be approved as a stand-alone breast cancer preventative in women with normal bone density. Please be sure to share the news of this new and exciting, break-through therapy for breast cancer!
