The Rubino OB/GYN Group
Say Goodbye to Heavy, Painful
Periods with Her Option®
Cryoablation Therapy

If you suffer from heavy, painful periods, there is a solution. The Rubino OB/GYN Group is the recognized expert in NJ and the NY metro area on Her Option® Cryoablation Therapy – a safe and simple 15-minute procedure to eliminate heavy, painful periods. In fact, Dr. Rubino invented the “Clock Technique” to ensure the precision of this leading-edge treatment and teaches seminars on the procedure.

This simple process involves freezing the lining of the uterus to stop or reduce menstrual flow, without anesthesia, surgery or hormones. Many women return to their normal activities the next day. It’s an extremely safe alternative to hysterectomy to end heavy bleeding.

Dr. Rubino offers in-office consultations to discuss the procedure and the plan that is right for you. The consultation and procedure is covered by most insurance plans.

A slender probe is placed in the uterus through the cervix and is cooled until it reaches subzero temperatures.

Her Option was invented to treat "menorrhagia" (men-or-ra-jah), a medical term for menstrual periods that are too heavy, too frequent, or last too long. Her Option is designed for office use and women's comfort in mind. The procedure typically takes 12-15 minutes and uses Cryoablation (cold temperatures) for a natural analgesic affect, reducing any discomfort associated with the procedure.

Her Option is an easy choice for women with heavy periods who are looking for an alternative to a hysterectomy, while maintaining natural hormones.
During the treatment, your doctor will monitor the progress and precision of the treatment using a 4D abdominal ultrasound. A slender probe is gently inserted through the cervix and is cooled until it reaches sub-zero temperatures.

Cryoablation is so safe and effective it is replacing the D&C, which is an older, much less effective treatment for heavy menses or AUB (Abnormal Uterine Bleeding).

Her Option facts:

It is effective. In a clinical study with Her Option, 91% of patients surveyed at two years following treatment were very or extremely satisfied.¹ The decrease in bleeding varies from woman to woman. Some women find that their periods return to more normal levels. Other women will find that their bleeding is completely eliminated or will only spot for a few days a month.
It requires no IV sedation. Your doctor will work with you to determine appropriate medication for the treatment.
It may provide additional benefits. Patients who undergo the treatment often report a reduction in PMS symptoms, such as fatigue, irritability and cramping.²
It offers patient satisfaction. 96% of women would recommend Her Option to a friend.²

Her Option is not right for all women. Set up a time to speak with our clinic about treatment options.
